1. Who we are

Vanspec Marketing ("Vanspec", "we", "us", or "our") is a performance marketing agency based in British Columbia, Canada. We provide paid media management, growth strategy, and related digital marketing services to direct-to-consumer ecommerce brands.

This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through our website at vanspecmarketing.com, through our client intake forms, and in the course of our business relationship with clients and prospective clients.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in two ways: information you give us directly, and information collected automatically when you visit our website.

Information you provide directly

When you fill out our discovery call intake form or otherwise contact us, we may collect your name, email address, company name, website URL, annual revenue range, monthly ad spend, and any details you share in open-text fields.

Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, we and our service providers may automatically collect your IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, time on site, and referring URLs.

We do not collect sensitive personal information such as financial account details, government-issued ID numbers, or health information through our website or intake forms.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiry and schedule calls, evaluate whether an engagement would be mutually beneficial, deliver our services to active clients, improve our website through aggregate analytics, and comply with legal obligations. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that produces significant effects on you.

4. How we share your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share information with trusted service providers (scheduling software, project management tools, email and analytics platforms) who access it only to perform specific functions on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our legal rights. In the event of a business transfer, information may be transferred as part of that transaction with prior notice.

5. Cookies and tracking

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality and analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate site usage. Meta Pixel and Google Tag Manager may be used to measure the effectiveness of our own advertising.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings or opt out of Google Analytics via the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.

6. Data retention

We retain enquiry and intake form submissions for up to 24 months, or for the duration of an active client relationship. Client records are retained for a minimum of 7 years to meet legal and accounting obligations. Analytics data is anonymized or deleted after 26 months. Email correspondence is retained for up to 3 years unless part of an active client record.

7. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information, withdraw consent, request data portability, or lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Canadian residents (PIPEDA) may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. EEA/UK residents (GDPR) may contact their local data protection authority. California residents (CCPA) have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any right, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

8. Third-party services

We use the following third-party platforms in the course of our business, each governed by their own privacy policy: Google Analytics, Meta, Basecamp, Calendly, and Notion. Our website may link to third-party sites whose privacy practices we are not responsible for.

9. Children's privacy

Our website and services are directed at business owners and marketing professionals. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under 16. If you believe we have done so inadvertently, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Your continued use of our website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
